Manchester Monarchs News Release
MANCHESTER, N.H. - Manchester Monarchs Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations, Rich Seeley, announced today Yann Sauvé has signed a Standard Player Contract with the team.
The Monarchs are the ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Los Angeles Kings and the American Hockey League's Ontario Reign.
Sauvé, 26, returns to the Monarchs after playing 25 games this season with Medvescak Zagreb of the KHL, where he scored three points on two goals and one assist and accumulated 61 penalty minutes.
The 6-foot-3, 212-pound native of Montréal, Quebec, played 52 games with the Monarchs during the 2015-16 season after being assigned to Manchester by the Portland Pirates on Nov. 11, 2015. With the Monarchs, Sauvé scored 29 points on seven goals and 22 assists. Sauvé was assigned by the Pirates to the Stockton Heat on March 7, 2016, but returned to the Monarchs on Apr. 11, in time to play five games for Manchester in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
Sauvé was drafted by the Vancouver Canucks in the second round (#41 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, and played eight career games for the Canucks. In his career, Sauvé has played 227 AHL games while recording 45 points on eight goals and 37 assists.
Sauvé and the Monarchs are back in action when they will host the annual Pink in the Rink game Saturday, Feb. 11 (6 p.m.), as North Division rivals, the Adirondack Thunder, will visit SNHU Arena. The ice will be dyed pink, breast cancer survivors will be recognized before the game and the Monarchs will wear special pink jerseys, to raise funds and awareness for the Catholic Medical Center's Breast Care Center.
Pink Packs are on sale, but for a limited time only. Pack include a ticket to Pink in the Rink, a ticket to a future game, a limited-edition Pink in the Rink t-shirt and a donation to Catholic Medical Center's Breast Care Center. Gold level (lower level) packs are $35, and Club level packs are $40 and include access to the Sam Adams Lounge.
