Ottawa Lynx News Release

OTTAWA - Turnabout is fair play and the Lynx found themselves on the wrong end of that cliché yesterday against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. After edging the Yankees in Wednesday's game, the Lynx dropped a close one Thursday, falling 4-3. The loss drops the Lynx preseason record to 5-3-1, second-best in the Phillies system.

Kyle Kendrick had a great start, shutting Scranton out over his 5 innings while scattering 5 hits. Tim McClaskey allowed 3 runs, 1 earned, over 2 innings and Kane Davis gave up the eventual winner in the 8th. Yoel Hernandez threw a scoreless 9th inning.

Danny Sandoval had a home run and 2 RBI, while 2003 Lynx MVP Pedro Swann slugged his first home run of the Spring, a solo shot. Jim Rushford had 2 hits. Chris Roberson (1 hit, 1 run), Randall Simon (1 hit) and Jason Jaramillo (1 hit) rounded out the Lynx offence.

The Lynx face the Syracuse Chiefs, Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, for back-to-back games tonight and Saturday. The Lynx will then have Sunday off.

The Ottawa Lynx will open the 2007 season, their first season as the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, in Rochester on April 6. The Lynx home opener is scheduled for April 17th against the Charlotte Knights at 6:05 pm. Ticket information can be found at www.ottawalynx.com or by calling 613 747-LYNX (5969).
