Yambati Promoted to Wilmington

Kane County Cougars News Release


GENEVA, IL - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, have announced that pitcher Robinson Yambati has been promoted to Class-A Advanced Wilmington, while pitcher Mike Giovenco has re-joined the Cougars from the disabled list. This afternoon's roster move keeps the Cougars at 25 active players as the team continues a three-game series against South Bend. Game two of the series takes place tonight at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark, with first pitch set for 6:30 p.m.

Yambati (Non-drafted free agent, 2008) joined the Cougars on May 2nd from Arizona and pitched in 16 games, going 2-1 with a 3.22 ERA. The right-hander had not allowed an earned run in his last five outings.

Giovenco (14th Rd, 2010) was placed on the disabled list June 26th, and is 2-2 with a 4.34 ERA in 18 appearances out of the bullpen.
