FLORENCE, Ky. - Despite a 13-strikeout performance from Parker Brahms, the Evansville Otters lost in walk-off fashion to the Florence Y'alls Tuesday night, 6-5.

Evansville's offense kicked off quickly, scoring on back-to-back RBIs from George Callil and Andy Armstrong in the second inning.

The 2-0 advantage was cut in half in the third as Ray Zuberer hit a solo home run to left.

In the sixth, the Otters once again found the scoring column as Armstrong earned his second RBI of the day while grounding into a double play. Directly after, Miles Gordon singled in a second run.

One inning later, Steven Sensley scored on a throwing error from Y'alls second baseman Ethan Stern, giving the Otters a 5-1 lead.

Brahms' big day came to an end in the eighth after allowing three of the first four to reach base and giving up his second run.

Jake Polancic received the nod out of the bullpen at this point, but would fail to record an out as all three batters he faced reached base. He allowed two more runs to score, lowering Evansville's advantage to 5-4.

Augie Gallardo was the second man to try to rescue the Otters, but allowed a game-tying sacrifice fly to Anthony Brocato.

In the ninth, the Otters had a chance with Jeffrey Baez reaching third on an error with just one out, but would leave him stranded.

In the bottom half, Gallardo returned to the mound for Evansville and after allowing a walk and stolen base, gave up the game-winning RBI to Axel Johnson.

Gallardo received the loss in relief in his first appearance of 2022. Evan Brabrand received the win in relief for Florence, his second.

Evansville out-hit Florence 9-7 in the game while Florence committed three errors to Evansville's zero.

The two sides face off once again on Wednesday evening, with first pitch scheduled for 5:31 p.m.(CT). Coverage begins on the Evansville Otters YouTube page at 5:20 p.m.(CT).
