Florence Y'alls News Release

Florence, Ky. - The Washington Wild Things (49-25) scored four runs in the top of the tenth inning to defeat the Florence Y'alls (31-42) 6-2 at Thomas More Stadium on Wednesday.

A pitchers' duel from the beginning, Washington built a 2-0 lead against Florence's starter Jeremy Ovalle, who threw 5.1 solid innings and struck out five. After Washington's starter Kobe Foster exited the game, the Y'alls went to work in the seventh. Rodney Tennie came through with a two-RBI single to tie the game and eventually force extra innings.

The tenth inning, however, is when Florence's bullpen cracked. The Wild Things benefitted from four walks against Cameron Pferrer en route to a four-run innings. The Y'alls went down in order in the bottom half, securing Washington's seventh consecutive series victory.

The Y'alls bullpen entered the tenth inning having allowed no runs on just two hits. Sean Hughes, Darwin Ramos, Karl Craigie, and Evy Ruibal all logged scoreless outings.

Florence and Washington each produced eight hits as a team. Alberti Chavez, Axel Johnson, and Luis Pintor all had multi-hit performances for the Y'alls. Neither side had a home run.

Christian James earns the win for the Wild Things. Florence's Cameron Pferrer takes the loss.

The Y'alls look to beat Washington for the first time in over two months tomorrow night. Griffin Baker is Florence's scheduled starter. First pitch is 6:34 p.m.
