Yacinich Lifts Bees Past Wisconsin

(Burlington-IA) - Jake Yacinich capped off a three hit night, with a walk-off single propelling the Bees to a 4-3 win over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers at Community Field.

The Bees got things started in the third inning when Jake Yacinich reached on an infield single, and moved to third on a throwing error. Exicardo Cayones flew out to center, deep enough to score Yacinich, giving the Bees a 1-0 lead.

The Timber Rattlers tied things up in the fifth inning on a wild pitch that scored Dustin DeMuth, making the score 1-1.

Bees' catcher, Brandon Gildea doubled with one out in the bottom of the fifth inning and moved to third on a passed ball. Exicardo Cayones sent a deep fly ball to center, scoring Gildea with a sacrifice fly, putting the Bees back on top 2-1.

Wisconsin took their first lead of the series in the sixth inning when Elvis Rubio lined a double to left-center, scoring Munoz and Diaz, putting the Timber Rattlers on top 3-2.

Natanael Delgado knotted the game up in the bottom of the sixth inning, picking up his first hit of the season, driving in Exicardo Cayones, tying the game at three.

Caleb Adams led off the ninth inning with a single to left and then moved to second on a Brandon Gildea sacrifice bunt. Michael Hermosillo beat out an infield single, placing runners at the corners with just one out. With two hits earlier in the game, Jake Yacinich delivered his third, singling to center, scoring Adams, giving the Bees the win, 4-3.

Bees' reliever Justin Anderson (1-0) picked up the win, pitching four innings of relief, while Luke Curtis (0-1) was charged with the loss.

The Bees and the Timber Rattlers wrap up the series tomorrow night at 6:30 at Community Field. Jeremy Rhoades makes the start for the Bees against Wisconsin's Zach Hirsch.
