
X's Explode For 19 Hits In 13-3 Win Over Gary

Sioux City-----The Explorers exploded with 19 hits Friday at Lewis and Clark Park as they pounded the Central Division leading Gary-Southshore RailCats 13-3.
It was the first game of a three-game series between the two teams and with the victory the Explorers pulled to within eight games of the first place RailCats. Catcher Ray Serrano led the way for the Explorers with four hits while Dustin Jones and Brett Flowers both had three hits apiece. Kent Sakamoto had two hits, but he put the icing on the cake for the Explorers with a three-run home run in the eighth inning, his seventh of the season.
Richard Salazar, in making his first start for the Explorers at Lewis and Clark Park, picked up the victory as the Explorers are now just one game under the .500 mark at 35-36.
The second game of the series between the two teams will be Saturday with game time set for 7:05. Come out early tonight an enjoy $1 domestic draft beer and $1 Pepsi Soft Drinks on the Bullpen BBQ from 6PM until the first pitch.
