Pittsburgh Xplosion News Release
Pittsburgh, PA. The visiting Indiana Alley Cats defeated the Pittsburgh Xplosion 131-119 led by ABA All Star Chandler Thompson who had 30 pionts and 13 rebounds. Chris Acker led the Xplosion with 23 points and DeVaughan Halsel added 20 as Pittsburgh fell to 16-11. The Xplosion played without starting center Armon Gilliam who suffered a minor injury at the ABA All Star game last weekend. Despite Gilliam's absence, the Xplosion trailed by just 2 points at halftime, 60-58. Indiana pulled away in the third quarter outscoring the Xplosion 43-25.
The game against Indiana, the ABA's top team with a record of 24-2, marked the debut of Eric Mobley, a former star for the University of Pittsburgh and a 1st round NBA draft pick. The Xplosion aim to rebound against the Toledo Ice this Friday, Feb 17 at Mellon Arena. Tip off is 7pm. For more information, visit www.pittsburghxplosion.com or www.abalive.com.
