Hartford Wolf Pack News Release

The atmosphere inside the XL Center will take on a pink hue this Saturday, February 1, when the Hartford Wolf Pack take on the Albany Devils in a 7:00 PM American Hockey League game, as the Wolf Pack help to "Save the Top Shelf" with their "Pink in the Rink" Night, in support of breast cancer awareness.

The players will have a subtly different look, as the team will wear special pink-accented jerseys on Saturday. Those jerseys will be auctioned off in the XL Center atrium, with the auction proceeds benefitting the Connecticut affiliate of Susan G. Komen. The pink motif will also extend to food and beverage, with the XL Center concession stands featuring pink popcorn, pink cotton candy and pink lemonade, and the Comcast Coliseum Club menu augmented with cherry plank salmon with pink sauce, pink grapefruit salad and pink lobster bisque.

Prior to puck drop, the National Anthem will be sung by the school chorus from New Britain, CT's HALS Academy, in memory of Nancy Richard, the wife of beloved HALS physical education teacher John Richard. The HALS community lost Nancy to breast cancer this past November at the age of 41.

A season-high crowd, which will push well into the upper level of the XL Center, is expected, with several large groups booked to be in attendance. The Wolf Pack are offering a special ticket package for Saturday night that includes a distinctive "Save the Top Shelf" t-shirt. The package is priced at $25, and shirts are available in Medium, Large and X-Large sizes. The Save the Top Shelf t-shirts are also available for purchase, with a portion of the proceeds from those sales going to Komen Connecticut. More information can be found at SaveTheTopShelf.com.
