Wrenn Flies Back to Aces Nest
September 28, 2016 - ECHL (ECHL) - Alaska Aces News Release
ANCHORAGE, ALASKA - Rock-solid and dependable as a defender and consistent point-producer on offense, William Wrenn plays the game at a high level every time he steps on the ice. That's why the Alaska Aces are more than happy welcome back their captain.
Head Coach and President of Hockey Operations Rob Murray made the announcement Thursday that Wrenn will once again wear the Glacier Blue.
The Aces, proud affiliate of the NHL's Vancouver Canucks and AHL's Utica Comets, will lean on Wrenn to play in all situations...power play, penalty kill and everything in between.
Wrenn put up numbers that kept him at or near the top of defenseman scoring lists all season long in 2015-16. He assisted on 37 goals to go along with the 4 he scored himself. Wrenn earned a late-season call-up to AHL Utica where he played in 2 games. In the post-season, Wrenn was named an ECHL 2nd Team All-Star.
Murray is happy to welcome back the elite defenseman.
"In my eyes, William is one of the best defenseman at our level, bar none," said Murray. "He had a great year
Wrenn and the Aces open the 2016-17 regular season October 21 at Colorado. The home opener is Friday, October 28, 7:15pm at the Sullivan Arena against Rapid City.
