
Wranglers Shoot Down Condors, 2-1; Las Vegas Heads to Bakersfield Saturday Night

Las Vegas, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers® (4-4-0, 8 Points) defeated the Bakersfield Condors (5-4-0, 10 Points) 2-1 in front of 4,062 fans at the Orleans Arena on Friday night. Forwards Andrew Orpik and Matt Watkins scored for the Wranglers in the win. Las Vegas goalie Michael Ouzas made 37 saves to improve to 5-1 in his last six starts. Forward Dan Sexton tallied the lone Condors goal. Bakersfield goalie Timo Pielmeier stopped 23 of 25 shots in the loss. The Wranglers will head to Bakersfield to take on the Condors Saturday night, November 7th, at 7:05 p.m. at Rabobank Arena.
The Wranglers opened the scoring at 16:59 of the first period with a goal from forward Andrew Orpik. Wranglers defenseman Jason Krischuk set up Orpik's third goal on the season to give Las Vegas the 1-0 lead.
In the second period, Las Vegas increased the lead to 2-0 with a power-play goal from Matt Watkins. Forward Adam Miller and defenseman Robbie Bina assisted on Watkins' second goal in as many nights at 3:50. Bakersfield answered back with Dan Sexton's team-leading sixth goal on the season at 16:36. Defensemen Stu Bickel and Eric Regan assisted on Sexton's power-play goal to cut the Wranglers lead to 2-1.
Despite being outshot 13-3 in the final period, the Wranglers held on for the 2-1 victory.
