Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced Wednesday that defenseman Greg Coburn has agreed to terms with the team for the 2013-14 season.
Coburn ("CO-burn"), 25, enters his rookie season after four years (2009-13) at Union College. The 6-foot, 174-pound defenseman posted 20 goals and 53 assists during his time with the Dutchmen, and spent four seasons (2009-13) playing alongside Wranglers defenseman Ryan Forgaard and three seasons (2009-12) playing with Wranglers defenseman Nolan Julseth-White. Originally from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Coburn was part of the Union squads to finish both the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons as ECAC Hockey champions, and helped advance Union to their first Frozen Four appearance in 2012 as well.
Before college, Coburn played three years (2006-09) with Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League's Yorkton Terries. He recorded 23 goals and 64 assists in 162 games, and donned the alternate captain "A" his final year.
Coburn's brother, Braydon Coburn, is a defenseman for the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers.
