Arizona Rattlers News Release
MESA, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers announce the signing of WR GREG ORTON.
"We are glad we have Greg on board," said GM/HEAD COACH KEVIN GUY. "It's going to be nice having him here instead of having to figure out ways to cover him. He's going to be able to help us evolve and add some different dimensions to our offense."
Orton spent time with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2009 and participated in the Denver Broncos training camp in 2011.
"I'm definitely excited to be an Arizona Rattler," said Orton. "It was something that I had been thinking about for a while. The Rattlers are putting together a great team and I think, personally, it was the best situation for me."
The wide receiver spent two seasons with the Spokane Shock (2010-2011) prior to joining the Rattlers. Last season, Orton hauled in 120 receptions for 1,588 yards and 37 touchdowns for the Shock in 16 games.
At Purdue, Orton recorded 203 receptions (fifth in school history) for 2,356 yards (sixth in school history) and 13 touchdowns.
