Power Sign Reality Star Ahmaad Smith, Also Sign Carlos Suggs and DL Brown

(Pittsburgh, October 31, 2011) The Pittsburgh Power announced the signings of defensive back Ahmaad Smith, wide receiver Carlos Suggs, and OL/DL Jada Brown.

Smith is remembered most for being a runner-up in Michael Irvin's reality show on the Spike Network, where 12 defensive backs and wide receivers competed for a spot on the Dallas Cowboys' 80 man training camp roster. He played football and basketball for Tennessee State. Smith then worked out for the Arizona Cardinals before Playing with the BC Lions in the Canadian Football League. In 2010, Smith spent much of the year with the Toronto Argonauts before ending the season with the Iowa Barnstormers in the AFL.

Suggs, a 6'5" wide receiver, played his first three college seasons at Ole Miss where he appeared in 11 games. After injuring his collarbone prior to his senior year, he transferred to Clark Atlanta University. After recovering from the injury, he appeared in five games and grabbed10 receptions for 120 yards and one touchdown.

Brown played in 41 games including 21 starts at the University of Memphis where he recorded 80 total tackles in his career, including 11.5 tackles for loss and 5 sacks. He was assigned to the Kansas City Command in the AFL in 2010.

"Ahmaad is a special athlete who can compete man-to-man with all types of receivers," remarked Power head coach Chris Siegfried. "Carlos and Jada have great physical tools, major conference college experience, and familiarity with the speed and the talent level of the AFL. We expect both of these players to make their presence felt."
