WR Adron Tennell Returns to Spokane

September 23, 2011 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Spokane Shock News Release

Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that WR Adron Tennell has been added to the 2012 roster. Tennell is the third player from the 2011 roster to return to Spokane.

Last season, his rookie year, Tennell made the most of his opportunities and collected 42 receptions for 469 yards with 13 touchdowns in only six games. Tennell recorded a career-high in receptions (11) in a critical game against the San Jose SaberCats and recorded another career-high in touchdown receptions (5) against the Utah Blaze at the Joe Albi Summer Classic. His efforts against Utah were recognized by the AFL naming him the league's PLAYMAKER OF THE WEEK.

For the offensive-minded Head Coach Andy Olson, Tennell, 6-5 205, is the first receiver added to the 2012 roster and he is expected to pick up where he left off last season.

"Tennell was a big time player towards the end of the season last year and he really started to grow and develop as a player for us. I think we have only seen the surface of what he is capable of doing," Olson said. "For being 6-5 he runs really well and he is a great jumper. He can jump up in the air and snatch the ball from anybody and that is something rare to find."

Tennell is the second offense player added to the roster in as many days.
