Tampa Bay Storm News Release
TAMPA BAY - Defensive back Erick McIntosh is set to return for the 2012 season head coach Dave Ewart announced. That brings the total of returning players to nine as the three-week exclusive team re-signing period winds down as the team prepares for the 2012 free-agency period starting Monday, September 26.
"Erick has been a good player for us the past two seasons and I am pleased to have him back," said Ewart. "We wanted to make sure that we had a nucleus of guys on the roster as we head into free-agency"
McIntosh (5-foot-10, 175 lbs., Florida Atlantic) has been a steady performer in the defensive backfield for the Storm. Over the past two seasons he has recorded 142 tackles, 24 pass breakups, six interceptions, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. He also has a knack for capitalizing on turnovers as he registered three touchdown returns, all pivotal moments, including two on the final play of the game to seal victory for the Storm.
"I began my career here so I am excited to come back," said McIntosh. "I am eager to be a part of the transformation the team is making and thrilled to see what we are going to do this upcoming season."
