WORCESTER, MA--- In the final game of the season against the SkyHawks the Tornadoes used a three run bottom of the eighth to top the birds 5-2.
Baron Short (1-2) turned in another fine effort for Worcester and was finally compensated with a win. Short tossed eight innings allowed just a single run with four strikeouts. Maikel Jova picked up the only two RBI's for the SkyHawlks; one on a single in the first and another on a solo homerun in the ninth off Anthony Sullivan. His seventy runs driven in lead the CanAm.
Sussex starter Mike Schellinger in his sixth start against Worcester, the most of any starter in the league, went the distance in the loss, allowing all five earned runs. It was the second complete game of the season for Schellinger, both against the Tornadoes. Worcester got single RBI's from Nick Salotti, Chris Colabello, Carlos Sosa, and Yohanny Valera.
Tomorrow at 7:05 Worcester travels to Brockton for three against the Rox. Zack Zuercher (7-4) takes the rock for Rich Gedman against Brcokton's right-hander Jeff Long.
