Worcester Sharks News Release

WORCESTER, MA. - Worcester Sharks President Michael A. Mudd announced members of the entire hockey team will host local families at Sunday's Dec. 26 home game against the Portland Pirates and will have a special gift sharing event after the game.

Members of the Sharks, participating through the Hockey Players 4 Kids (HP4K) foundation and its "Give Moore for the Holidays" program, will host 20 youth residents of the Community Healthlink in Worcester with free tickets for a night out at the Sharks home game on Sunday, Dec. 26 at 6:30p.m.

"The whole idea is to give back to local kids who wouldn't otherwise get a gift for the holidays and haven't had the chance to experience a hockey game, said Sharks defenseman Mike Moore. "It's great to see our whole team respond to an offer to participate voluntarily - all of the guys didn't hesitate to jump in."

After the game, each player will visit the same group of children (event is closed to the general public) and present gifts.

"Give Moore for the Holidays," founded by Worcester Sharks defenseman Mike Moore - is a signature event hosted by HP4K that challenges professional hockey players to give back to their local communities and underprivileged youth through creative programs during the holiday season.

Hockey Players 4 Kids is a foundation consisting of nearly 40 hockey players from across the world, including, Moore, Anaheim Ducks forward George Parros and Philadelphia Flyers forward Darroll Powe. It aims to reach local communities of professional hockey teams and positively impact the lives of local youth through several programs during each year.
