Worcester Sharks Name Charlie Townsend Video Coaching Assistant

Worcester, MA - Worcester Sharks (@WorcesterSharks) General Manager Joe Will announced that Charlie Townsend has been named the Worcester Sharks video coaching assistant for the 2013-14 season.

Townsend joins the Sharks organization after spending the last three seasons as a professional hockey player in the Central Hockey League and the French Elite League. He served as an assistant coach and video coordinator for the Bloomington Blaze (CHL) after an injury shortened season last year.

Charlie is a 2010 graduate of Middlebury College where he played 83 games for the Panthers accumulating 49 points (27-22-49). The 26-year-old native of Pennington, NJ was an assistant captain for Middlebury's 2009-10 squad that won the NESCAC championship and was a member of the NESCAC All Sportsmanship team.

"The Sharks are excited to have Charlie on board as he begins the next step in his hockey career," said Joe Will. "Charlie's skills and character are a great complement to the Worcester Sharks coaching staff."
