Fort Worth Brahmas News Release
NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas - Chad Woollard's third-period goal Saturday night pulled the Brahmas even at one with the Oilers and represented yet another milestone reached for the franchise veteran.
Woollard's 376th CHL goal (21st this season) tied him with Chris Richards for 10th on the CHL all-time goal-scoring list.
Tulsa's Gio Flamminio scored his second goal in as many nights (third of the season) at the 16:48 mark of the first period to give the Oilers a 1-0 lead early. After Woollard's goal tied the game early in the third period, Brahmas' captain Adam Hogg continued his recent success, beating Tulsa netminder Ian Keserich at the 18:03 mark for the eventual game-winner. For Hogg, it was his third game-winning goal in his last 10 games and seventh this season, which is tied for second in the CHL.
Calin Wild added an empty-netter with four seconds left for good measure, setting the final tally at 3-1.
Brahmas' goaltender Mark Guggenberger (17-5-3) made 23 saves on 24 shots, improving his league-leading goals against average (1.82) and save percentage (.931). Keserich stopped 22 of 24 to fall to 18-12-1.
Saturday's win was the Brahmas' eighth in their last nine contests. Texas extended its lead over Tulsa in the Berry Conference to 10 points and is now only three points behind the Allen Americans for second place.
The Brahmas and Oilers will do it again on Sunday at 5:30pm at the NYTEX Sports Centre.
