February 25, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Laredo Bucks News Release

LAREDO, TX: The Laredo Bucks, of the Central Hockey League, shut-out the Allen Americans 5-0.

The Laredo Bucks and the Allen Americans faced each other for the tenth time this season and the second straight night. The Bucks won 4-1 Friday night in Allen, thanks to a natural hat trick from Ryan Sparling.

The two teams came out strong in the first period of play. The Laredo Bucks penalty kill stopped two Allen powerplays during the period. Ryan Rondeau was strong in net, making several key saves. The period ended scoreless, with each team having 13 shots on net.

The Bucks offense took over in the second period. Neil Trimm put the puck past Rejaean Beauchemin at 3:43 giving the Bucks a 1-0 lead. Matt Boyd and Tyler Stitt assisted on the goal. Laredo got on the board two more times thanks to Erik Boisvert. Boisvert first had an unassisted goal on a breakaway at 7:41. Then just over two minutes later, at 9:53, Boisvert found the net once again when he put it past the backside of the Allen netminder. Neil Trimm and Matt Boyd assisted on the goal. This was the second assist of the night for Boyd. The Bucks outshot the Americans 11-9 in the second.

The Bucks began the third period with a 3-0 lead over the Americans for the second night in a row. But unlike Friday night, Ryan Rondeau would not let the Americans get on the board. Rondeau denied all 9 shots during the third period. This was Rondeau's first professional shut-out. The Bucks offense notched two more goals during the final period. A.J. Hau scored on a rebound at 7:49 from Adam Rivet and Ryan Sparling. Justin Styffe put the nail in the coffin when he scored at 18:21 giving the Bucks a 5-0 lead. Joseph Harcharik assisted on the final goal of the night.
