GARY, Ind. - New for the Tenth Anniversary Season of Gary SouthShore RailCats Baseball is a weekly radio show called Woody's RailCats Roundup featuring first-year Broadcaster Tim "Woody" Calderwood in a behind-the-scenes look at the RailCats every Saturday at 9 a.m. on 89.1 FM The Lakeshore.
Woody's RailCats Roundup will air every Saturday at 9:00 a.m. on 89.1 FM The Lakeshore, beginning this Saturday, May 7. Calderwood will host the program, and every week, will chat with players in addition to members of the RailCat Coaching Staff and Front Office to provide fans an inside look at RailCats Baseball. Calderwood will discuss some of the week's news and highlights while also chatting with people from around the American Association.
Fans will have the opportunity to ask questions of seventh-year Manager Greg Tagert during an email segment titled Tagert's Mailbag. Those interested in participating need only to send their questions via email to tcalderwood@railcatsbaseball.com.
The one-hour program will air on the flagship home of RailCats Baseball, 89.1 FM The Lakeshore where Calderwood will also broadcast a pair of exhibition contests next week. Sunday's game with the Windy City Thunderbolts at U. S. Steel Yard at 1:00 p.m. and Tuesday's game in Ft. Worth at 7:00 p.m. are the scheduled broadcasts. The first-year RailCats Broadcaster will also maintain a blog all season at http://calderwoodscorner.blogspot.com/.
The RailCats will trim their roster to 23 before opening the 2011 season against the Grand Prairie Air Hogs in Texas on Thursday, May 12. The 'Cats return to Northwest Indiana for Opening Night at U. S. Steel Yard on Friday, May 20 and it's gonna be hot as Ted "Burning Man" Batchelor will be on hand for a one of a kind post-game spectacular!
