(Wausau, WI) - December 19th - The Northwoods League has announced its schedule for the 2012 summer collegiate baseball season. The Wisconsin Woodchucks home opener will be June 1st against the Green Bay Bullfrogs at Athletic Park in Wausau. The Woodchucks will open their season May 30th against the Eau Claire Express at Carson Park in Eau Claire.
After their home opener, the "ËChucks will travel to Green Bay for two games before returning to Athletic Park on June 4th for two games against the La Crosse Loggers. Also, be sure to join the "ËChucks at Athletic Park on June 18th and 19th to cheer on the team as they welcome the Lakeshore Chinooks to Athletic Park for the first time. The Chinooks, a new franchise in 2012, are located in Mequon, Wisconsin and will join the Woodchucks in the South Division.
Each Northwoods League team will play a 70-game schedule with all of its games within its own division.ÃÂ The Woodchucks will once again be playing its entire regular season schedule within the South division, which, in addition to the Chinooks, includes the Battle Creek Bombers, Eau Claire Express, Green Bay Bullfrogs, La Crosse Loggers, Madison Mallards, and Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.ÃÂ The NWL Championship Series will pit the North Division champ versus the South Division champ.
