Woodchucks Drop Tight One in Fondy

Wausau, WIS - The Woodchucks came into tonight's game on the road in Fond Du Lac looking to split the two game series after falling 5-2 in last night's game. The game was tight throughout but a big 7thinning from the Dock Spiders gave them control of the game and held on for a 6-4 victory.

The Chucks stepped on the gas pedal early with a two run RBI single in the top of the 1stfrom leftfielder TJ Raguse to make it 2-0.

After the Dock Spiders added a run in the bottom of the 2ndinning, The Chucks answered back with another run in the top of the 3rdoff a wild pitch allowing catcher Dom Derenzo to score and making it 3-1.

Chucks Starter Brett Wicklund pitched another solid outing going six innings giving up just one run and striking out two.

In the top of the 6thinning, the Chucks got another run crossing the plate as TJ Raguse came home from third base on another wild pitch to make the score 4-1.

The Dock Spiders answered back with a big bottom of the 7thscoring five runs to take a 6-4 lead.

Top Performers

In his fourth game as a Woodchuck, left fielder TJ Raguse had a great night at the plate reaching base safely three times and coming through with a two run RBI single in the top of the 1stinning.

Chucks starter Brett Wicklund pitched himself a great ballgame giving up just one run on six innings pitched and striking out two.

Joey Hennessey did a nice job keeping the game close pitching a scoreless 8thinning in relief.
