Salt Lake Bees News Release

Kean Wong delivered a three run double in the top of the tenth inning to help give the Salt Lake Bees a 5-3 win over the Oklahoma CIty Dodgers on Friday night. With Jose Rojas the automatic runner at second to start the tenth, Monte Harrison walked and in the process of laying down a sacrifice bunt, Magneuris Sierra beat the throw to first to load the bases. The next two batters both took third strikes before Wong drilled the first pitch he saw into the right field corner to score all three runners. OKC scored one run in the bottom of the tenth, but Wander Suero earned his second save of the season by retiring the next three batters, including two by strikeouts.

Trailing 1-0 and without a hit through six innings, Jake Gatewood singled and Jose Rojas drilled a two run homer in the 7th to give the Bees a 2-1 lead. OKC tied the game with an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth on three walks, an error and a balk, but Gerardo Reyes (3-3) retired the next two batters to keep the game at 2-2. Salt Lake starter Cesar Valdez recorded his fifth quality start of the season, as he went 7 innings and allowed just one run on five hits with four strikeouts and no walks.
