SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Chris Wondolowski scored his second MLS Central Coast Challenge game winner in as many years, striking in the 68th minute to give the San Jose Earthquakes a 2-1 result over the Colorado Rapids Friday night at Alex G. Spanos Stadium.
Wondolowski teed up a shot from the top of the box and blasted it by Stewart Ceus. Khari Stephenson scored San Jose's first goal in the 32nd minute, nodding home a corner kick from Marvin Chavez.
San Jose came from behind to pick up their second-straight preseason win in San Luis Obispo. Jaime Castrillon struck first for the Rapids, finishing a pass over the top from Jefferson Angulo in the 13th minute.
The Earthquakes are 4-0-1 all time at Spanos Stadium.
The squad will head to Ventura, Calif. to complete a 10-day Southern California swing on Saturday. The trip includes matches against the Houston Dynamo (Feb. 14) and Chicago Fire (Feb. 18) at Oxnard Community College.
