Wolves Win Third in a Row, 5-1

The Watertown Wolves took on the Delaware Thunder on Saturday night. The Wolves have had a strong start to the season posting a record of 10 wins and 2 losses after Friday's victory. Tonight's contest was a physical battle, with the Wolves capitalizing on their powerplay opportunities.

The Wolves came out in the first period cycling the puck well. Putting pressure on the Thunder all period, the Wolves were able to draw early penalties. The Wolves' first powerplay saw several pucks miss the crossbar. Tyler Gjurich would score on the Wolves' second powerplay of the game, assisted by Deric Boudreau and Kyle Powell. The Wolves would edge out the Thunder, with 15 shots to the Thunders 12. Wolves Jeremey Pominville was in net again for the Wolves, he has been having an impressive start to his rookie season.

The second period of play saw the Wolves come on very strong. Jamie Lukas would hammer a puck in down low. A minute later Michael Desjarlais would score a goal assisted by his brother Dallas. The following minute Tyler Gjurich would go on to score. Three goals in three minutes would get the crowd going. Eric Masters would go on the score the lone Thunder goal of the period.

The third period saw the Wolves dominate. The Thunder tried to get the Wolves into the rough stuff, which led to Cameron Dimmitt scoring a powerplay goal.

The Wolves go on the road this coming weekend in Elmira.
