Windsor Spitfires News Release

Ryan Ellis had a pair of goals in the first period, the second giving him 300 career points in the OHL, which moved him ahead of Rangers rearguard Andre Benoit (299 points from 2000-2005) to third on the OHL's all-time defenceman scoring list. And the Spits looked to have things well in hand with a 4-0 lead after 20 minutes in Sudbury on Sunday afternoon.

But slowly, the home side climbed back into the game and Eric O'Dell had the tying and winning goals, as the Wolves won 6-5 in overtime.

Kenny Ryan (18), Zack Kassian (25) and Alexander Khokhlachev (34) had the other goals for Windsor (33-21-3-3), which moved back into fourth in the Western Conference, earning a single point.

Jack Campbell made 31 saves in goal and kept the game as close as it was in the second and third periods.

Windsor had just 15 shots in the final 40 minutes of regulation and none in overtime.

The Spits were in penalty trouble for much of the afternoon and the Wolves top-ranked power play made them pay, going 3-for-7 on the day.

O'Dell tied the game with less than four minutes to play with the man advantage, then won it in the extra session, again with the man advantage.

The Spits return to the WFCU Centre this upcoming on Thursday to take on the London Knights. Game time is set for 7:05 pm, tickets can be purchased from the TekSavvy.com Box Office, by calling (519) 254-5000 or online at windsorspitfires.com.
