
Wolves Host Storm and Rangers in Double Header Weekend

(GREATER SUDBURY, ON) The Wolves continue their seven game homestand by hosting another double header weekend. On Friday the Wolves welcome the Guelph Storm while on Saturday the Pack will face the Kitchener Rangers. Puck drop for both games are at 7:05pm.
The Wolves began their homestand with 3 games in 6 days last week, where the Pack battled to come out with 3 points. With a big win on Sunday, they provided an offensive explosion defeating the Mississauga Steelheads for the second time this season by a score of 8-4. Alex Pharand and Djibril Toure both scored 2 goals in this contest. Ethan Larmand collected a goal and 3 assists while McCallum, DeGrazia, Delic, Musty, Holmes and Collins all collected 2 assists. The Wolves look to keep the momentum going heading into this week's double header action.
Join the Wolves Friday as we remember the brave men and women who have served our country and continue to do so. There will be a ceremony prior to puck drop to honour those who have served and sacrificed.
Friday's game is sponsored by Sudbury.com. The Guelph Storm come to town for the first time in three years. Guelph's roster features five NHL prospects including Jake Karabela (WSH), Sasha Pastujov (ANA), Danny Zhilkin (WPG), Matthew Poitras (BOS) and Michael Buchinger (STL). Right winger Sasha Pastujov leads the Storm in goals with 9 on the season and ties teammate Danny Zhilkin for the lead in points with 14.
Following Friday's showdown, the Pack welcomes the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday for a Sudbury Saturday Night. They face-off for the second time this season. The Rangers roster features four NHL prospects Filip Mesar (MTL), Francesco Pinelli (LA), Tomas Hamara (OTT) and Roman Schmidt (TB).
Francesco Pinelli leads the team in points with 15 on the season.
Saturday's game is sponsored by Special Olympics. Select members from Special Olympics Sudbury will join us for a ceremonial puck drop and showcase their talents on the ice during the first intermission. After Sunday's offensive explosion, many of the players saw an increase in total points this season.
Seattle Kraken prospect David Goyette continues to lead the team in points this season, he has 8 goals and 9 assists which makes up for 17 on the season. Sudbury's own Alex Pharand continues to find himself on the scoresheet, after scoring 2 goals against the Steelheads, his total for goals scored this season has reached 8. Landon McCallum leads the Pack in assists with 10 while Quentin Musty and Kocha Delic are tied with Goyette in assists with 9 on the season.
