Head-to-head:

Owen Sound has won both of this season's meetings between the two clubs. However, Kitchener still holds the advantage over the Attack across the last five years posting a 20-13-2-1 record overall. Their best span was during that 2018-19 season when the Rangers recorded a 6-2-0-0 showing in eight games and won all four on home ice at The Aud. In the same five-season span, Kitchener owns a 11-6-1-0 record against Owen Sound on home-ice at The Aud.

Since these two clubs last met, Kitchener's record has drastically improved owning a 5-2-0-0 record in the last seven games. In that same time, Owen Sound owns a 3-3-2-0 mark in eight games since seeing Kitchener last.

Most recently, Owen Sound is coming off a 4-1 regulation loss at home to the London Knights. Kitchener is coming off a 1-0 regulation home win against the Saginaw Spirit. That win improves Kitchener to 4-3-0-0 on home ice this season.

Scouting the Rangers:

Goaltender Marco Costantini posted his first shutout of the season last game stopping all 18 shots he faced vs. the Saginaw Spirit. It was the Rangers' first shutout this season. Roman Schmidt (Tampa Bay Lightning) recorded his first goal of the season which was both the game-winning tally and only goal in the game. Carson Rehkopf recorded his 10th point of the year with a primary assist in that game.

Captain Francesco Pinelli (Los Angeles Kings) leads the team in points this season with nine goals and six assists in 11 games thus far. 2023 NHL Draft prospect Hunter Brzustewicz is coming off a 10-game point-streak, is second among all OHL defencemen in assists, and is tied for sixth among all OHL defencemen in points with 13 points (0G, 13A) in 12 games in his first year in the OHL.

Kitchener is in a three-way tie to lead all OHL teams for having the most first-time draft eligible skaters for the upcoming 2023 NHL Draft that will be held in Nashville this June 28-29. Matthew Andonovski, Hunter Brzustewicz, Cameron Mercer, Kyle Morey, Jackson Parsons, Carson Rehkopf, Blair Scott and Adam Zidlicky are eight first-time skaters eligible for the upcoming NHL Draft, making up 32-percent, or nearly one-third, of the current Rangers' roster.

Tomas Hamara (Ottawa Senators), Filip Mešár (Montréal Canadiens), Francesco Pinelli (Los Angeles Kings) and Roman Schmidt (Tampa Bay Lightning) are four Kitchener skaters that are both drafted, and signed, by their NHL clubs respectively.

Scouting the Attack:

Owen Sound forward Colby Barlow is a top prospect eligible for the upcoming NHL Draft in June and has earned an 'A' rating on NHL Central Scouting's Preliminary Players to Watch list, indicating a likely first-round candidate. Barlow has 14 points (7G, 7A) in 11 games this season.

The Attack have two skaters inside the OHL's top 20 scorers coming into Tuesday nights game. Both Deni Goure (9G, 9A) and Cedrick Guindon (5G, 13A) have recorded 18 points each and are tied for 14th overall with five other OHL skaters. Deni Goure also enters play on a four-game point streak with nine points (4G, 5A) in four games.

In net, Nick Chenard owns the best save percentage (.921) in the OHL and the second-best goals against average (2.43). He has also started in both games against Kitchener this season. Chenard has recorded the win in both of those starts posting 2.00 goals against average and 0.941 save percentage.

Cedrick Guindon (Montréal Canadiens), Servac Petrovsky (Minnesota Wild) and Kaleb Lawrence (Los Angeles Kings) are the three Owen Sound Attack skaters drafted by their NHL clubs respectively.

Kitchener Rangers Third Jerseys:

The crest on the front of the Rangers' third jersey was designed by the Kitchener Rangers Hockey Club in honour of the Canadian Forces and debuted 12 years ago in September of 2010. The design was derived from a recruiting poster that was used in England during WWI. This popular recruiting poster was inspired by "Lord Kitchener", the same individual that the City of Kitchener was subsequently named after. The poster's popularity led the United States to use this poster as the basis for the creation of their "I Want You - US Army" poster in their recruiting efforts on this side of the Atlantic.
