Wolves Get Four From Atlanta

The Atlanta Thrashers have assigned forwards Tomas Pospisil (PAHS-pih-sil), Matt Siddall (sih-DUHL) and Myles Stoesz (STAYZ) to the Chicago Wolves. In addition, the Thrashers have released Chicago center Matt Anderson, who will report to the Wolves when training camp opens this Saturday.

POSPISIL appeared in 11 regular-season outings with Chicago during his professional debut last season, collecting two assists, his first professional points. The 21-year-old left wing also tallied 18 goals and 41 points in 54 regular-season matchups with the ECHL's Gwinnett Gladiators.

The Thrashers' sixth choice, 135th overall, in the 2005 National Hockey League Entry Draft, POSPISIL notched two goals and five points in eight games during Gwinnett's Kelly Cup playoff run to the South Division Semifinals.

STOESZ ranked first in the ECHL with 291 penalty minutes in 64 regular-season outings with the Gladiators last year, during his first professional season. Atlanta's seventh choice, 207th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, he also tallied four goals and six points with Gwinnett, and was held scoreless in one Kelly Cup playoff outing.

SIDDALL completed his fourth season with the University of Northern Michigan (CCHA) this spring, netting a career-high 18 goals, 36 points and 116 penalty minutes in 41 games during his senior campaign. Overall, the 23-year-old right wing amassed 32 goals, 44 assists, 76 points and 357 penalty minutes in 147 outings during his four-year collegiate career.

ANDERSON, who notched two points (G, A) and four penalty minutes in 11 playoff outings with the Wolves en route to the 2008 Calder Cup Championship, was re-signed by Chicago on Aug. 27. The 25-year-old forward split the 2007-08 season between the Wolves and Gladiators, accruing two points (G, A) in 14 games with Chicago and 29 points (14G, 15A) in 37 games with Gwinnett.

All four players will be on hand when the Wolves open training camp at the Hoffman Estates Park District Community Center and Ice Arena on Sat., Sept. 27. Chicago will play two preseason games during the 10-day camp, beginning with a matchup against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Hoffman Estates Ice Arena on Fri., Oct. 3 at 7 p.m.
