Syracuse, NY (September 24, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today the details of the Fidelis Al's Pals 'Kid of the Month' Program, presented by Edy's.

The Crunch and Edy's will team up with the Fidelis Al's Pals Kids Club to recognize some of the Crunch's biggest 'little' fans. Each month during the 2008-2009 season, the Crunch and Edy's will select the Fidelis Al's Pals 'Kid of the Month,' presented by Edy's.

In order to be selected, registered club members will be encouraged to write an essay of up to 150 words describing why they are the Crunch's biggest fan. From the submitted essays, Al, the team mascot, will select a winner for each month of the season. The winners will also be recognized on the Crunch's website. Fidelis Al's Pals Kids Club members can submit their essays by dropping them off at the Crunch office or emailing them to [email protected].

The winners will receive four tickets to a Crunch home game, an autographed Crunch item, a special visit by Al during the game, a chance to meet a Crunch player after the game and an Edy's prize pack, all courtesy of Edy's.

The Crunch open their 15th AHL season with a home-and-home series against their I-90 rivals, the Rochester Americans. The teams will face-off at the Blue Cross Arena on Friday, October 10, followed by the Crunch's home opener at the War Memorial at Oncenter on Saturday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets are available by calling the Crunch office at (315) 473-4444.
