Chicago Wolves News Release
The Chicago Wolves raised more than $300,000 last season as part of an annual campaign to benefit Chicago-area and national charities.
The 2004-05 season was highlighted by auctioning and raffling two different jerseys. The Wolves' Shamrock Jersey Auction for St. Patrick's Day, sponsored by Jewel-Osco, raised $37,000 for Easter Seals, while the Armed Forces jerseys earned $30,000 for CAUSE: Comfort for America's Uniformed Services Elite.
The "Get Fed by the Wolves" event at the Ram Restaurant and Brewhouse in Rosemont collected $14,000 for charities associated with Dan Snyder and various Chicagoland causes. Snyder, a member of the 2002 Calder Cup Championship team, who spent two seasons with Chicago (2001-2003), passed away on Oct. 5, 2003, six days after suffering major head injuries in a car accident.
"Every year, our organization strives to do more for the community by raising more money, collecting more toys, collecting more food and reaching a greater number of people," said Wolves Executive Director of Operations Courtney Mahoney. "We wouldn't be able to do nearly as much without the continued generosity of our fans. Because of their efforts, we are able to make a difference to our local community and other important charities."
The Wolves set up fundraisers at all 49 home games during the season, which included in-game raffles, online auctions, and chuck-a-puck contests, and featured notable events such as the Wolves Wives Puck Surprise, "Shirts Off Their Backs" scratch-and-win cards, and "Score for Charity".
Overall, the Wolves  who hosted blood drives, food drives and the United States Marine Corps Reserve "Toys for Tots" Program  aided more than 20 charities during the season, including the Y-Me Breast Cancer Organization, Lupus Foundation and First Step Foundation.
