Springfield Falcons News Release
Springfield, MA - The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League (AHL) today announced the hiring of Ticket Sales Account Executive Steve Pomerantz.
Pomerantz is a recent graduate of Game Face Inc., an international training and career placement company with offices in Portland, Oregon and London, England. Pomerantz, who is a native of Sunderland, Massachusetts, received his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst in 2005. During his final semester at UMass-Amherst, Pomerantz gained ticket and corporate sales experience while working with the Holyoke Giants of the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
"Steve has taken significant steps to prepare himself for a career as a professional sports executive," said Falcons vice president of sales Mike Thompson. "With his Game Face training and UMass Sport Management education complete, Steve's pursuit of a position with the Springfield Falcons has paid off. I am proud to have an individual of Steve's caliber as a member of the Falcons office, and I am sure his career in professional sports will be a long one."
During the summer of 2004, Pomerantz served as a sales and marketing intern with the Buffalo Bisons of the International Baseball League where his duties included: program advertising sales, developing game-day scripts, and assisted in event management planning.
"I'm thrilled to be a part of an organization like the Springfield Falcons," said Pomerantz. "It has always been a goal of mine to work in sports and without the training I received at Game Face I would not be where I am now."
Prior to his time with the Bisons, Pomerantz expanded his sports marketing knowledge with the Miami Dolphins serving as a customer service representative during the Dolphins' training camp handling all fan and security issues.
The Falcons will open their 12th American Hockey League season on Saturday, October 8 when they host the Portland Pirates at the newly renovated MassMutual Center. Season and group packages are now available, including Flex Packs and our new exclusive Club Seats. With a full season package, adults can enjoy a 30% discount off the cost of individual game tickets. The Falcons are also offering a money back satisfaction guarantee on full season tickets.
