Sudbury Wolves News Release

The Sudbury Wolves hosted the Mississauga Steelheads Sunday afternoon for a matinee match-up at the Sudbury Arena.

The Wolves came out slow in the opening frame of the game. JOSH BURNSIDE notched a short-handed goal for the Steelheads just over three minutes into the game which seemed to set the pace. The Steelheads continued to capitalize on the Wolves' slow start taking a 4-0 lead after the first 20 minutes of the play.

The Wolves had a stronger start to the second period and outshot the Steelheads 21-18, but were unable to get on the board. Mississauga defenceman, BRANDON DEVLIN, added a power-play goal from the point to close out the second frame.

Wolves' rookie, BRADY PATAKI added his second goal of the season to put the Wolves on the board with just over 5 minutes left in the game. Defencemen JONATHAN DUCHESNE and JONATHON MASTERS drew assists on the play. That was as close as the Wolves came, Mississauga went on to take this one by a final score of 5-1. Shots on goal were tied at 29 shots apiece.

The Sudbury Wolves and Glencore would like to thank everyone who donated toys to the Glencore Toy Drive prior to Sunday's game. These toys will be given to children in need over the holiday season. The Wolves are proud to partner up with Glencore to spread the holiday spirit across our community.

The Wolves are back in action next Friday at home when they host the Windsor Spitfires at 7:30PM. To get your tickets visit www.greatersudbury.ca, call 705-671-3000 or visit the Sudbury Arena.
