ROSEMONT, ILL. (November 21, 2009) - The Peoria Rivermen ended their three-game road trip with a 3-1 loss to the Chicago Wolves on Saturday night at Allstate Arena. Nicholas Drazenovic's goal stood as the game's only marker until the third period when the Wolves scored twice in the opening four minutes to turn the game around. Peter Mannino made 40 saves, including 13 in the third period to secure the Wolves win.

The Rivermen dropped two out of three on the latest road trip and return home for three games next week beginning on Wednesday against Abbotsford.

Drazenovic's goal came at 10:15 of the first period on the power play. It was the second goal in as many nights for Drazenovic who is now tied for the team lead with Chris Porter at seven on the year. Aaron Palushaj and Brett Sonne pushed the puck behind a sprawling Mannino but Drazenovic nudged it across the line. Peoria finished one-for-five on the power play.

Mannino kept the other 16 shots of the first period out of the net and improved to 2-0-0 in his only two starts for the Wolves. He and Rivermen goaltender Hannu Toivonen combined for a scoreless second period with Peoria outshooting Chicago 11-9.

The Wolves scored all of their goals in the third period and tied the game just 1:14 into the frame. Tim Stapleton ripped a shot from the right circle under Toivonen's blocker during four-on-four play. His team leading ninth goal of the season was followed by Johnny Pohl's fourth at 3:20 to give the Wolves their first lead. Mike Vernace's pass hit the side of the net and bounced into the slot for Pohl.

Brett Sterling iced the game with an empty netter at the 19:00 mark. Toivonen made 24 saves in the loss and saw his personal three-game winning streak come to a close.

Peoria will play four of their next five games on home ice, beginning on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. Tickets are available for just $8 in select sections of the upper bowl for all weekday games (Mon-Thurs) for the rest of the season.
