Wolves Calder Cup Party In Crystal Lake
August 28, 2008 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Chicago Wolves News Release
Join Wolves Skating and Skills Coach Kenny McCudden at the Crystal Ice House in Crystal Lake, Ill., this Saturday, August 30, from 12-5 p.m., as he puts his time with the Calder Cup to use for a good cause. Hockey fans of all ages are invited to come out and celebrate the Wolves championship while helping to raise funds for a cause near and dear to the local hockey community. All proceeds from the event will benefit the William Schlau Jr. Fund. Schlau, a 14-year-old local hockey player, was one of four students involved in a fatal car accident on the way home from school during the fall of 2007. Two of the students in the car were killed, while Schlau sustained major injuries and was hospitalized for four months. The fund in his name assists his family in covering the costs of his recuperation. The event, which is free and open to the public, will feature the Calder Cup on display, a silent auction, food and beverages, representatives from the Wolves and a visit from the Wolves mascot, Skates.
For more information, call the Ice House at 815-356-8500.
