
Wolves Bite Bulldogs 4-1

Hamilton, Ontario - The Chicago Wolves defeated the Hamilton Bulldogs by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday morning in front of 6,528 kids from Hamilton area schools for a special school-day game. Tim Miller scored two goals including the game-winner and added one assist while Darren Haydar scored a goal and recorded three assists.
The Wolves opened the scoring at 18:25 of the second period on a power play goal by Tim Miller. Nathan Longpre was positioned in the right corner and centered a pass towards the slot where Miller redirected the puck under Hamilton starting goalie Nathan Lawson. Chicago scored their second goal on another tally by Miller at 18:48 of the opening stanza. Miller received a pass at the right side of the blue line from Haydar and then Miller proceeded to cut into the slot. The attempted pass from the bottom of the right circle deflected off a Hamilton defender and slid past Lawson.
The Bulldogs scored their first goal of the game on a goal by Alexander Avtsin at 6:11 of the middle frame. Brian Willsie rifled a slapper from the blue line which was tipped in front of the net by Avtsin over Chicago starting goaltender Matt Climie.
The Wolves extended their lead on the power play on a goal by Bill Sweatt at 10:34 of the second stanza. Haydar was behind the net and fed a pass to Sweatt who was on the other side of the net. Sweatt then walked out in front of the net and wristed a shot over the glove of Lawson on the short side.
Chicago added an empty net goal by Darren Haydar at 19:07 of the final period.
