Hartford Wolf Pack News Release

The Wolf Pack played their first three road games of the season this past weekend and took five out of a possible six points, with a regulation win, a shootout victory and an overtime loss. In Friday night's first away outing, the Pack got its first two-goal game of the year from Adam Tambellini, and a goal and an assist from fellow rookie Ryan Graves, to complete a sweep of their two-game season series with the Syracuse Crunch with a 4-3 triumph. Then it was off to Hershey, PA for a pair of games against the Bears, the first of which the Wolf Pack lost in overtime Saturday night, 3-2. Ken Gernander's team battled back Sunday, though, for a 3-2 shootout win, as Nick Tarnasky struck for his multiple-point game in a Wolf Pack uniform with two goals, and Jeff Malcolm made 24 saves in his first appearance of the season. The Pack is now 5-0-1-0 in its last six games since a season-opening loss vs. St. John's.

This week:

The Wolf Pack play their second straight three-game weekend this week, finishing a stretch of four straight road games Friday night at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (7:05 PM faceoff) before returning home to the XL Center for a pair of contests. The Providence Bruins return to Hartford for a Halloween-Night battle Saturday at 7:30, and then the Rochester Americans visit on Sunday for a 5:00 start.

Friday, October 30 at the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins (Pittsburgh) at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, 7:05 p.m.

- This is the first of six games on the year between the Wolf Pack and Penguins, who are in the same division, the Atlantic, this season for the first time, and the first of three visits by the Pack to Wilkes-Barre. Hartford was 1-2-1-0 in a four-game season series between the two clubs last year, and split two road games against the Penguins.

- Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is off to a 5-1-0-0 start under its new head coach, former New York Ranger assistant Mike Sullivan, after five seasons under John Hynes, who moved on to become the head coach of the New Jersey Devils.

- Penguin goaltender Matt Murray, who captured the AHL's Baz Bastien (Outstanding Goaltender) and Dudley "Red" Garrett (Rookie of the Year) Memorial Awards last season, with a 25-10-3 record, a 1.58 goals-against average, a 94.1% save percentage and 12 shutouts, is 4-1-0 thus far this year, with a 1.99 GAA, a 94.0% save percentage and one shutout.

Saturday, October 31 vs. the Providence Bruins (Boston) at the XL Center, 7:30 p.m.

- There will be plenty of "Howl-o-ween" fun at the XL Center, including trick or treating and an on-ice costume parade, as the Wolf Pack host the Bruins for the second time on the season. The Wolf Pack captured a 4-3 overtime victory in Providence's first visit October 14.

- The Bruins are 2-3-2-0 for six points through their first seven games, after splitting a home-and-home set with Lehigh Valley Friday and Saturday. Providence is 0-2-1-0 on the road thus far.

- Bruin forward Alexander Khokhlachev, who had four assists in Providence's last two games, leads the AHL in assists and is tied for tops in the league in points, with 2-9-11 in seven games.

- Tickets for this and all 2015-16 Wolf Pack home games are on sale now at the Agera Energy Ticket Office at the XL Center, on-line at www.hartfordwolfpack.com and by phone at (877) 522-8499. Sunday, November 1 vs. the Rochester Americans (Buffalo) at the XL Center, 5:00 p.m.

- Wolf Pack Sunday home games will once again feature the Wolf Pack's "Click It or Ticket Family Value Pack". The Family Value Pack includes two tickets, two sodas and two hot dogs, all for just $35.

- This is the first meeting between the Wolf Pack and the Americans, whom the Pack defeated four-games-to-two in the 2000 Calder Cup Finals, since March 9, 2002, a 3-2 Rochester overtime win in Hartford.

- The Amerks are 3-4-0-0 through their first seven games of the season, after having stopped a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 shootout win at home over Syracuse Sunday.

- The Americans' head coach is former Hartford Whaler forward Randy Cunneyworth, who is in his second tour of duty behind the Rochester bench.

- Rochester's leading scorer is former Adirondack/Lehigh Valley Phantom Jason Akeson, who has amassed 3-3-6 in the first seven games.
