The Wolf Pack find themselves behind two-games-to-one in their best-of-five, first-round playoff series with the Providence Bruins, after a 2-1, triple-overtime loss in Game Three Sunday night in Providence. The second-longest game in Wolf Pack franchise history, the marathon battle ended at 2:00 of the third extra frame, on a goal by the Bruins' Seth Griffith. Brady Skjei had the only Wolf Pack goal in the game, his first pro point, and Yann Danis made 45 saves. The Wolf Pack won the series opener at home Wednesday, 3-1, with Danny Kristo providing the game-winning goal and an assist, but Providence scored a pair of third-period goals to wipe out a 1-0 deficit in Game Two Saturday in Hartford, winning by a score of 2-1. Chris Bourque had the only Wolf Pack tally in that game, and Danis stopped 28 shots.

Full Speed Ahead

"Full Speed Ahead" is the official Wolf Pack playoff slogan. This comes from the ship U.S.S Hartford, which served as Admiral David Farragut's flagship during the Civil War. During the battle of Mobile Bay, while on the deck of the Hartford, Farragut famously said, "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead!".

The third seed in the AHL's Eastern Conference, the Wolf Pack need a win Tuesday night in Game Four of their first-round playoff battle with Providence to keep their season alive. Tuesday night's game at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence faces off at 7:05, and if the Wolf Pack prevail, there will be a winner-take-all Game Five at the XL Center this Friday night, with faceoff at 7:00.

Tuesday, April 28, Game Four at Providence (Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence), 7:05 p.m.

- This game is a must-win for the Wolf Pack, who have dropped the last two games of the series, by identical 2-1 scores, after winning the opener. In their playoff history, the Pack are 12-13 all-time when facing elimination.

- The only longer game in Wolf Pack history than the triple-overtime loss in Game Three was a 4-3 win over the Worcester IceCats May 5, 2004. That game ended on a goal by current Wolf Pack head coach Ken Gernander at 7:49 of the third overtime. Sunday's Game Three was the longest game in P-Bruins franchise history.

- This is the fifth all-time playoff meeting between the Wolf Pack and Bruins, and the last three have all gone the distance, one best-of-five and two best-of seven series'.

- Wolf Pack goaltender Yann Danis has allowed a total of only five goals on 106 shots in 222 minutes of play in the series, for a goals-against average of 1.35 and a 95.3% save percentage.

- Providence's Alexander Khokhlachev had the Bruins' only goal in regulation in Game Three, giving him 2-1-3 for the series. He is tied with the Wolf Pack's Danny Kristo (1-2-3) for the series scoring lead.

- Malcolm Subban made his first appearance of the series in net for Providence in Game Three, and stopped 46 out of 47 Wolf Pack shots, after Jeremy Smith played the first two games for the Bruins.
