LAS VEGAS - Kelsey Plum took a run at a second straight WNBA All-Star MVP trophy, but her 30 points Saturday evening at Michelob ULTRA Arena weren't quite enough as Team Stewart topped Team Wilson 143-127.
Jewell Loyd poured in 31 for the victors, breaking the All-Star single-game scoring mark of 30 points that Plum (2022) shared with Maya Moore (2015), earning MVP honors in the process.
A'ja Wilson scored 20 points for the team that bore her name; Chelsea Gray added 5 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists; and Jackie Young scored 6 points for the runners up.
For the second year in a row the WNBA implemented a 4-point shot in its mid-season classic, and the two teams combined to connect on a dozen from that 28-foot foot distance.
The WNBA announced earlier in the day that the Phoenix Mercury will host the 2024 All-Star Game.
