Dakota Wizards News Release
BISMARCK N.D., April 3, 2007 - With the help of guard Moe Baker's near triple double (25 points, 11 boards and nine assist) the Dakota Wizards defeated the Austin Toros 120-113, eliminating the Toros from playoff contention.
"It's crunch time, can you feel it", said head coach Dave Joerger. "We were able to hit shots when we needed tonight along with making some good defensive decisions. Shooting 100% from the free throw line also helps."
The Wizards, now 29-16 were a perfect 24 for 24 from the charity stripe on the night, led by forward Renoldo Major's 10-10 from the line. Major finished with 21 points in the contest, while guard Chris McCray scored a season high 22 points off the bench, including 17 in the second half.
Falling to 20-25 on the season, the Toros were led in scoring by guard Troy Bell with 29 points. Forward Justin Bowen and guard Brock Gillespie each pitched in 17 for the Toros.
The Wizards extend their home record to 17-5 and will stay in Bismarck to face the Ft. Worth Flyers on Friday, April 6th at 7 P.M. The Toros hit the road to face the Tulsa 66ers on Friday.
