Nets recall Mile Ilic from D-League

East Rutherford, NJ - The New Jersey Nets have recalled rookie center Mile Ilic from the NBA Development League's Colorado 14ers, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. Ilic suffered a sprained left ankle in the 14ers' game versus Sioux Falls on March 31, 2007 and will be out indefinitely. As the first Nets player in franchise history to be assigned to the D-League, Ilic averaged 5.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.78 blocks in nine contests, including six starts. The native of Serbia shot .514 (19-of-37) from the field and .818 (9-of-11) from the line. Ilic recorded at least two blocks in each of his first four contests with the 14ers, while notching one double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds vs. the Arkansas RimRockers on March 16th. Ilic was the second round (43rd overall) pick of the Nets in the 2005 NBA Draft. He has appeared in five games with the Nets this season, totaling six minutes of action.
