Dakota Wizards News Release

BISMARCK, N.D., February 5, 2008 - The NBA Development League champion Dakota Wizards announced today that they have teamed up in the fight to Keep North Dakota Clean. Wizards' players and staff will join forces with the KNDC board of directors and visit 12 different cities in North Dakota to pass along the important information of how to keep our state clean.

"This is a win win for everybody," said Wizards General Manager Tom Wagganer. "Our guys get to see a little more of North Dakota and our fans in those areas get one on one interaction with the players in their own town."

The Keep North Dakota Clean campaign is in its 40th year and was formed to ensure a continuous statewide program of education and beautification of the state and the proper disposal of litter. It promotes keeping our state and water clean, reducing waste, preventing wildfires, recycling, creating wildlife habitat, and using all our natural resources wisely.

"Lets face the facts," said Jean Monroe of the North Dakota DOT. "We can't keep the state clean on promises. It requires the hard work of people who care about the economy and beauty of their community."

Through this program, all students in grades 1-8 and special needs in the state of North Dakota compete in a poster contest that lasts through March 15. At the conclusion of this contest, different posters will be judged with the first place winners of each grade being displayed on roadside billboards across the state.

Courtesy of North Bismarck Wal-Mart, Pizza Ranch of Beulah, Rainbow Gas and First Security Bank of Center and New Salem, students in grades 1-8 and special needs in selected cities will receive a complimentary ticket to the Wizards game versus the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Sunday, February 17. The 12 cities include: Center, Washburn, Wilton, New Salem, Glen Ullin, Hebron, Flasher, Carson, Elgin, Stanton, Hazen and Beulah.
