
Austin Steals One In Dakota

BISMARCK, N.D. February 5, 2008: The Austin Toros came from behind to pull out a 111 - 107 victory tonight at the Bismarck Civic Center.
The Wizards led in the first half by as many as 18 points behind guard Blake Ahearns 24 points to end the first two quarters 62-45. Ahearn who finished with a season high 38 points and seven assists led all scores on the evening, but wasn't enough to stop a late fourth quarter Toros run that gave Austin the lead with under six minutes in regulation.
"We started out with great energy," said Wizards Head Coach Duane Ticknor. "The second half was a different game. We started making silly mistakes and once it started we couldn't get a hold on it."
Austin, now 18-10 on the season was led in scoring by former Kansas Jayhawk and NBA D-League
All-Star Keith Langford who finished the night with 26 points and nine rebounds, while Marcus Williams created a needed spark of the bench nailing 18 points. Justin Reed also played well off the bench throwing in 16 points.
Dakota falls to 18-11 on the season, they also had a exciting player step up off the bench in forward Will Frisby who recorded his first double double of the season scoring a season high 19 points while pulling down a season high 14 boards. NBA D-League All-Star forward Rod Benson also finished with a double double grabbing 16 rebounds and hitting 10 points. Other Wizards All-Star Carlos Powell did not play the second half due to an injured toe, but did finish the contest with 11 points.
Six of the Wizards next seven games in the month of February are divisional match ups starting when they travel to Sioux Falls to play the red hot Skyforce next Thursday February 14th. Austin Stays on the road for a bit, but heads south to warmer weather as they face the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Friday February 8th.
