Wizards Clinch Playoff Berth

BISMARCK N.D., April 2, 2007 - With a 103-102 win over rival Sioux Falls on Friday night, the Dakota Wizards were able to secure a spot in the 2006-07 NBA Development League playoffs, but are still fighting for position in the very tight Eastern Division.

With six games remaining, the Wizards are a half game up on Sioux Falls and 2 ½ games up on Fort Worth. The top three teams in the East will battle this weekend at the Bismarck Civic Center as the Fort Worth Flyers come back to Bismarck on Friday and Sioux Falls, who is on the road for the rest of their season, visits on Saturday. Both games are at 7pm.

Friday's game against the Flyers is NBA Night presented by adidas, which features D-League teams wearing uniforms from their NBA affiliates. The Wizards will be wearing the gold road uniforms of the Washington Wizards, while Fort Worth will don the green uniforms of the Dallas Mavericks. The Wizards jersey's will be raffled off after the game.

The Wizards, currently 28-16, will be at home for four of their last six games, where they are a league best 16-5 in front of their own fans on the season. The Wizards tip-off their home stand on Tuesday, April 3 against the Austin Toros and Arkansas comes to town on Tuesday, April 10 to wrap up the Wizards home schedule. A pair of games in Austin will wrap up the regular season for Dakota.
