Bismarck, N.D. (Jan. 29, 2011) - The Dakota Wizards announced today that they have acquired center Mickell Gladness (6-11, 230, Alabama A&M) via the Available Player Pool. Gladness will be in uniform this weekend as the Wizards play host to the Sioux Falls Skyforce Saturday and Sunday.
Gladness, 25, has appeared in 19 games (6 starts) this season for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers averaging 3.8 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. Last season Gladness averaged 4.1 points and 3.1 rebounds in 41 games (6 starts) as a member of the Vipers championship team. The 6-11, 230lb center led the nation in blocked shots per game averaging 6.3 per game in his junior season at Alabama A&M. He also set an NCAA Division I single game record by blocking 16 shots in one game against Texas Southern.
The active roster currently stands at 10 players.
