RENO, Nev. - Seven double-figure scorers and 44 first-quarter points pushed the Reno Bighorns (16-12) to a 116-103 victory over the Bakersfield Jam (16-11) Friday night in the Reno Events Center.
The Bighorns never trailed on the evening, taking an 11-point lead after the first period and a 13-point lead into intermission.
For the Bighorns, Patrick O'Bryant scored 14 in the opening period on his way to 18 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the field. Anthony Richardson hit a pair of three pointers and fell just a point shy of his season high with 22 on the night. Marcus Landry notched 20 points, and Jeremy Lin added 10 points, five rebounds and five assists. Donald Sloan collected the game's lone double-double with 11 points and a career-high-tying 10 assists.
Jeremy Wise led the way for Bakersfield with 34 points on the strength of three three-pointers and a 10-of-11 night from the charity stripe. Derrick Byars added 21 points and seven assists. Luke Zeller contributed 11 points and 8 rebounds off the bench.
The Bighorns and Jam will hook-up again on Saturday night in the Reno Events Center. Tip-time is set for 7:05 p.m.
