Spokane Shock News Release
Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced today that LB Lance Witherspoon, a former Eastern Washington Eagle, was placed on Other League Exempt to join the Canadian Football League (CFL).
Spokane also placed LB Micah King and DL Terrance Taylor on Physical Unable to Perform (PUP) for the duration of training camp. Additionally, WR Juamorris Stewart, OL Dace Richardson, and OL Van Nelson have been placed on re-assignment.
"It's always hard to lose a player. But in Lance's case, this is exactly what we are trying to do for all of our players," Head Coach Rob Keefe explained. "We want our players to move on to higher levels of professional football. In joining the CFL, Lance is one step closer to realizing his dream of playing in the NFL."
The Spokane Shock will begin to defend the ArenaBowl XXIII title next week as they open the season in San Jose against the SaberCats on March 11th. The Shock will return to Spokane on March 19th to host the Cleveland Gladiators. Season tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 509 242 7462. Single game tickets, including the Joe Albi Stadium Summer Classic on July 9th, are also on sale now and can be purchased through TicketsWest.
