
With Five-Game Streak on the Line, Mallards Go for Sweep Over Loggers

MADISON, WI - August 1, 2011. The Madison Mallards play host to the La Crosse Loggers Monday in a 7:05 p.m. game at the "Duck Pond." The Mallards are currently on a season-high five-game winning streak that has brought the team within 2.5 games of the Loggers for first place in the South Division.
Madison will turn to Tom Windle (Minnesota) to keep the streak alive. Windle is 1-3 with a 6.06 earned run average in 11 appearances. Monday will be his fifth start of the season. Windle has faced La Crosse twice this season, both relief. He is 0-1 against the Loggers, with his loss coming in the team's first loss of the season on June 5.
La Crosse's starter has yet to be announced.
Monday's game will also be the final time the Mallards and Loggers square off this season. The Mallards are 7-2 against La Crosse, which is the team's best record versus any opponent this season. Following the game, the Mallards will travel to Wisconsin Rapids to face the Rafters in a 7:05 p.m. game at Witter Field Tuesday evening. The team will return to Madison on Wednesday to face the Rafters in another 7:05 p.m. contest.
Luedtke-Storm-Mackey Chiropractic will be sponsoring Mini-Bat Night Monday, where the first 1,000 kids through the gates will receive mini-bats. Fox 47 will also be presenting "Big Bang Theory" night.
